Information
No children or visitors are allowed in the baby area.
Parents to bring milk bottles and an empty bottle for Rooibos/boiled water. A dummy with a dummy chain is required and a small container containing any cereal/porridge they may have.
We would like you to take note of the following organisational requirements to ensure the smooth running of our day.
TIMES:
Full day: 07h00 – 17h00
Half day: 07h00 – 12h30
ARRIVALS:
The school opens at 07h00. Please do not be later than 08h30 as children lose the valuable information ring and theme discussion staring at 08h30. Breakfast is served between 07h45 and 08h15 (promptly).
COLLECTION TIME:
Half day: Children to be collected between 12h00 and 12h30. (Morning snack and lunch provided).
Full day: 07h00 to 17h00 (please be on time). Balanced lunch and snacks provided.
- Five and six year olds have a hearing and eye test during the year at a minimal cost.
- PLEASE: Always say goodbye to your child and reassure him/her that you will be back to fetch him/her later. If you appear tense or worried on leaving, your child will react accordingly.
- Under no circumstances will children be permitted to leave the premises of the school unless parent, guardian or other authorised person calls. (Authorisation in writing & ID is required)
- It is most important that we have correct or up to date telephone numbers and addresses. Please let us know promptly of any changes.
- When collecting you child early, please notify the Principal. Please teach your child to greet their teachers as this instils good manners.
- Please notify the school if your child is ill or unable to attend school. Also notify the Principal and class teacher if your child has been ill or upset during the previous night.
- Before bringing your child to school, please check for signs of illness such as: an eye discharge, runny nose, coughing, colour flushes or paleness. Check weekly for hair lice or nits. We are registered with City Health and therefore must adhere to the rules.A SICK CHILD BELONGS AT HOME. (Vitamin intake advisable).
- The school will be closed on Public Holidays, 2 weeks at the end of the year and the 1st week of January (depending on the calendar month) for our annual leave.
STATIONERY: (if applicable)
You will be required to purchase your child’s stationery for the year or a pro-rata portion thereof. A full stationery list will be provided by the school.
In order to facilitate your purchase of stationery, Waltons Stationery Company have developed the back to school system which will not only make your purchase easier and less costly, but will also ensure that there is uniformity of stationery.
